I was thinking about engines swaps for the Celica, and the idea of the Camry V6 came into mind. I mean, they had a 5S-FE, same motor as the Celica, and the 1MZ-FE, which is a V6 motor that was also in the first gen Solaras. Now, shouldn't this motor almost be a very simple drop into the Celica? The transmissions are also the same if I remember correctly. Has anyone ever attempted this or have more info?

I googled the engine and ended up here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_MZ_engine
Clicking from there I found the Highlander Hybrid.. (it uses the 3MZ-FE engine) Oooh I want a hybrid system! Clicking further I also saw the Camry have a 2GR-FE 3,5 liter V6 with Dual VVTi and 268 bhp. Something for the celicat? There should be a complete list of "compatible" engines on this site! |
