Just recently I have noticed a high pitched metalic screaching sound coming from the transmission somewhere. The sound is faint (loud music/exhaust probably drowned it out before I noticed it) and only occurs occasionaly but only when downshifting.
I cannot feel any difference in performance but the sound does not sound healthy! Btw I took the car to mechanic, but as with most intermittent mechanical sounds, it never occured when he was in the car!  Any ideas? Ok thanks mate. Im going to have at look at a few salvage yards for the hope of finding one with the correct sensor!
Btw, would a 1st/2nd gen 3sgte sensor work, or just 3rd gen? I think he mentioned that it was different in the st185s, but can anyone confirm? -------------------- 1996 UK white ST205
