 Car running rich |

I think my car is running a bit rich , the exhaust has alot of soot or carbon or whatever and when i start it in the morning there is a really heavy smell of gasoline coming out of the exhaust that only goes away after about 20 minutes of driving ... how do it tune the engine to fix this ?

I just got back from autozone , they have Denso oxygen sensors but they have to types : universal for 50$ and O.E. type for 150$ , now thats a huge difference and i would like to know which one is better for the money bearing in mind that there is a 50% i will swap my engine next year or the year after ...... toyota wolrd have them for 100$ by the way .....
