ok so my car has recently started eating oil . and today the car started smoking only at idle with a very burnt oil smelll. then during driving there is no smoke .i popped out the spark plugs and there dosent appear to be any residue on the plugs. it also idle almost perfectly when it smokes .so im going to rule out the head gasket but could it be vavle seals?

Same with mine but I puffed smoke in between gears...my car is gone til saturday but I am replacing my timing belt, accessory belts, head gasket, valve seals and my water pump...I figure I am at 172,000 and just replaced my transmission at 150,000 that I should be able now to hit that 300,000 run that a toyota can go
![]() My uncle who is my mechanic said that Toyotas are FAMOUS for their valve seals going...but,that's really the only "problem" with them. -------------------- ![]() |
