well, i got my trd quickshifter in a couple days ago and i must say...this thing is sweeeeet.
with the trd knob the length of the shifter itself isnt all that shorter..BUT, the distance between, and the feel of the shifts is GREATLY improved. just guessing prolly 30-40% shorter. real nice.
the install wasnt too bad, sorry i dont have any pics, but its pretty straightforward, and commer will be doing a install feature real soon. you gotta remove the lower section of your console to get at the bolts and stuff...the back section has 2 bolts in the armrest and 2 under the shifter boot. just slide it on out...now i couldnt get the front section off...so i used my go-go-gadget arms to snake the shifter assy. out through the whole where you shifter boot goes..(not an easy task!)there are 4 bolts holding the old shifter in, then disconnect the 2 cables...and these 2 things that hold the cables to the shifter assy. the new unit comes with these 4 washer/spacer type things...its very important to put these UNDER the new shifter assy., commer!( it wont go into gear without these.) reinstall all the other stuff and whamo, short, precise shifts!!! now the car handles like a racecar,AND shifts like one, just need the 3sgte to make it one for real!!!! I NEED BOOOOOOSSSTTT!!!!!lol biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
