I want to put some rear speakers in my car, since the previous owner took them out, and was wondering how to go about doing that. I don't see any how-to's for it, so what panels need to be taken off, what size are they, and is there any custom work necessary?

The speaker grill in the back? You just take something skinny and preferably blunt and stick it in the gap around the edge of the grill and gently pop it out. It's held on by 4 clips that easily go back in. and yes, mine fit quite tight.

I've made brackets a number of times on my old car so I was more than ready to do it again. The speakers fit and sound great but my only issue is that they are components and I have no home yet for the fairly big tweeters (they won't even fit in the stock front tweeter location they are too big).

I'm considering making a mock coax speaker by using some angle iron and attaching it to the MDF surround and bringing it in front of the woofer. Either that or I will bit the bullet and just mount it to the side of the angled wall between the speaker and the grill using the angled tweeter mounts to keep them as close to straight as I can. I try to avoid drilling holes in my car whenever I can. smile.gif

I meant to take pictures of them, so I should probably get on it.
