I think my car is running a bit rich , the exhaust has alot of soot or carbon or whatever and when i start it in the morning there is a really heavy smell of gasoline coming out of the exhaust that only goes away after about 20 minutes of driving ... how do it tune the engine to fix this ?

does it feel like it takes the engine along time to warm up? the needle should be at the 1/2 way mark with in about 2 miles of startup. if not, then change your thermostat.
