Acutally Lojack is a hidden transmitter inside your car. When it is reported stolen the transmitter is activated and police cars equipped with Lojack recievers can locate it. Most stolen cars are left for a day or two too cool off before they are stiripped. The theory behind Lojack is finding the car during the cooling off period.
As far as alarms. Viper is made by DEI. They also make Hornet, Sidewinder, Rattler, Python, Valet, Avital, Wasp and Clifford. They all have pretty much the same stuff inside. I've had really good luck with Excalibur alarms. They are made by Omega . I installed many of them over the years and have never had a problem. You gotta remember that the alarm is only as good as the install. Their tech support is top notch. But most of all unlike Viper you aren't paying extra for the name on the box. |
