im looking @ getting autometer's Phantom I series w/ wideband o2 gauge, -30 vac/30 boost gauge, and 0-1600 deg EGT gauge.
my question is - the wideband o2 gauge is like 350... is it really required for tuning purposes? or can i go with narrowband. -------------------- the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.

People did perfectly fine tuning years ago before the wide band ever came out. yeah, on 8cyl motors with a carb. you would just turn a screw untill it smelled rich, and that was that. in a day where 4cyl fuel injected motors are making more power then the v8s, you NEED a wideband for tuning. get the aem uego, if you want a gauge or the invoative, if you want something that can log. stay away from narrowbands. Again, you do not NEED one. EGTs and other guages will help you out just fine. It may not be as perfect as a wideband but again you do not NEED one. -------------------- |
