So a friend of mine who was like a die-hard Honda boy, decided he wanted to get a new car and get rid of his rice rocket civic. So after some looking, he managed to find a 92 JDM MR2. The car is already registered and driveable, but the guy whos selling it, for what ever reason is missing some parts off it, aka front fenders, t-top glass, and rear 1/4 pannel glass. But the motor and every thing else is prefectly fine with it. So hes taking care of gettin the new parts *his parents own a bodyshop*. So he wants me (since im the only toyota guy in windsor), to build up his car for him. Hes got like..7K to drop into it..lol. So he wants to build up some power in the engine, make the interior nice, and hes taking care of the exteior and paint. So for engine stuff, he wants to make some decent HP...around 230ish. So, im thinkin that for the engine build, since im in charge of that, we r gonna go with a intercooler kit probably by Spearco, or Blitz, HKS SSQV, Apexi intake, AEM EMS, Apexi turbo timer, autometer or defi gauges, HKS cam gears, Blitz Downpipe and Nur Spec exhaust, CryO2 intercooler sprayer, and i donno what for a boost controller. I was wondering what you guys think of that setup. He wants to run around 12PSI daily driven safely, but still b able to crank up the boost for when he wants it. I know its an MR2, so making boost safely and being able to cool it down is an issue, hense why we r gonna go with the CO2 spray. But any suggestions for a boost controller thats adjustable from the cabin. I was thinkin the AEM tru-boost system, but the only thing is about that is instead of giving a boost reading (ie 10PSI, 14PSI), it gives a % after stock boost...so if your running 7psi stock, on the gauge it says 25%..so its that 7psi+25% of it. Im also thinkin about the Pro-Fec B...but i dunno much about that.

For suspension im gonna b going with TEIN coilovers with EDFC and ST suspension sway bars, and for wheels we r either thinkin OEM MKIV Supra TT 17's or a set 5Zigen FN01R-C's in 17.

For exterior styling, we r gonna do Kouki tails, TOM'S style airscoope, Supra style side vents, Kouki front lip, TRD extensions..and i dunno what hes planning on doing for front fenders and side skirts.

Interior, Defi or Autometer gauges, gonna hide all the little things like the boost controller, turbo timer, cabel for the computer connection to the EMS, etc in the compartment between the seats, audio is his department, Nardi Steering wheel, and probably some sparco single peice seats.

What do you guys think??

We r headin back to toronto tomorrow to take a look/pickup the car and then most likely gonna b buying the parts tomorrow aswell.

This might be a better question for mr2oc but im going to go ahead and ask...

He wants a built car in 2 weeks for 7k?
Not going to happen, take your time or blow your stuff up. The prices between the brand names you have mentioned are huge. Autometer vs. Defi, Spearco vs. Berk.

Look if you want bang for your buck, I wouldnt shoot for more than 240-285hp.
Ive doubled that on my mr2 and its way to much.

Hes a honda boy asking to boost power, so the first thing you should do is NOT listen to him and make him do brakes.

93'' Toyota Mr2 brakes will be perfect, new rotors and some good pads and some ss lines
Berk side mount
ct-27 or a td06 is your best turbo choice (if you go td06 get an ex wastegate just incase)
3'' downpipe
Some decent tires on your rims. Just snag some azenis, cheapy racing tires so he can learn hes not driving a Honda anymore.
If your die hard on nur spec understand at WOT your going to bleed from the ears, I sold mine asap
I use a Blitz SBC ID w/ power meter for bling but any EBC will do.
If you REALLY are going Standalone ECU, dont go Apex-i Intake, get a KO Racing or Turbohoses Velocity Stack, ditch that AFM asap.
Dont do toms scoops, just please.
Dont bother with Co2, just get a Joe's Water Injection Kit

Which TEIN are you going with? Flex? Super Street? Etc.?
Shop around, TRD pillow ball mounts are the only ones that arn't metal on metal
TRD Struts and sways should be obvious

Not sure in what you mean by "Supra style" but if your reffering to removal of that line in the side vent, 2 sideskirts do it.
Greddy and Toms, or you could shop around for just the vent on ebay.
