I am almost done with installing the new tranny, but I cannot figure out where this ground wire goes. It mounts to the chasis behind the airbox. I have read on the forums that on gt's it goes to the starter, but the wire is only about a foot long and I do not see how it would reach on my st. HELP

That's too thin for your starter, it will burn up.
A ground wire has to be at least as large as the power wire. Attach it to your transmission. If you want to help extend the life of the starter, attach the heavy negative battery cable directly to one of the bolts that attach the starter to the trans. This will give you a slightly shorter ground with a better connection. FYI the neg battery cable normally is attached to the trans as well. The starter grounds through the trans case to the cable. -------------------- ![]() |
