MPG, what's yours? Options

I just got done testing my mpg thinking it might be crappy since I read the 5s-fe runs rich and plus with the car being 'round 12 years old, but I was joyfully surprised to see I'm running 29+mpg city. (with ac running sometimes and having a heavy foot)

Just something to make me love my car alittle more, since I expected 24-.

I'm curiouse though since I want to either add a turbo or swap to a 2nd gen 3sgte as to what my mpg would turn out to be.

Who on here with either a 5s-fte or a 3s-gte swap (or the very few who have a 5s-gte) checked your mpg?


Just really curious.

i get aabout 20-21 in my 94 GT.. how do you guys get 30? What factors are involved with gas mileage (mechanics of the car etc) I mean is there something I could be doing to my car to get better mileage? I already have made a concious effort to not have a lead foot, not speed too much, but what else?

What kind of driving do you do? The more stops and starts you have to do the worse it get. Simple things too like tire pressure, how much extra weight you have in your car, ac running on high.... little things add up.

As far a weight on my car I have a cf hood which is MUCH lighter than the stock aluminum one, and my rims are lighter than the ones I had before. I try to keep junk out of my car too but that's also since I like a clean interior.

Motor wise, I just keep on top of fluid levels and make sure everything is running good. ( I also I started to add some fuel injector cleaner every other tank, under $1 if I remeber right) I use mobile 1 synthetic oil too.

These are the things I can think of that contribute to having good mpg.
