i suppose that depends on what type of coilovers you're talking about. "full" coilovers like the tein super street dampers will definately improve the ride. i should know, i have them!
the coilovers that retrofit to your existing shocks will typically provide a much bounicer ride because the shocks themselves are not valved effectively for the much higher spring rates. a good set of lowering springs (like tein s.techs, eibachs, or trd) will lower the car and increase the spring rates, but tend to ride smoother than adjustable-type coilover springs. if your car has lowering springs, they might actually be causing the premature shock wear if they were installed on used struts. the best cure is to replace all of the struts with aftermarket ones (koni, kyb, and tokico all make them for the celica) and install the springs with new top mounts. i would do some searching and shopping to find a package that works best for you, and then go from there. -------------------- ![]() do you know who i am, mr. worley? |
