This may seem obvious to you all but what is the diffrence between a supercharger and a turbocharger? what are the pro's and con's of both?

the noise you refer to is from a blow off valve, a waste gate is a valve that controls how much of the exaust is going through the turbo. Thus controling the speed of the wheel in the turbo and the amount of boost.
