Hey guys, I'm looking for opinions here about what I should do for a sub. I was thinking about getting a amp/sub in a box, but then I decided maybe I should get a powered sub instead, particularly the Infinity Basslink. I'm not looking for something to rattle my car, or is louder then my current speakers. I want something that hits nice and low, doesn't take up too much space, and doesn't put a dent in my wallet (with accomodations at my work, I get the Basslink for $125). I could either get that, or a 10" Infinity Reference, 1300A Infinity Amp, with a smaller 10" box for about $165-$175. The box is bigger then the Basslink though, and I'm hearing awesome things about the Basslink. What do you guys think I should go? Wiring is not an issue because I already have all the amp wiring ran to the back of the hatch.
P.S. - I listen to alot of heavy metal, classic rock, trance, and SOME rap. -Matt This post has been edited by GotToyota: Oct 27, 2007 - 8:05 PM |

Infinity makes great speakers and if you can get them for 50% off, abso-friggin-lutely!!!! personally, I am not a fan of powered subs. (never heard the basslink though). I would go for the 1 10" or 12" sub and the 1300A would push it nicely.
I have 1 12" kicker powered by a fosgate amp that sounds great in the Celica. It fits behind 1 seat so I still have room to pull the other seat down for transporting stuff or whatever.... I have the sub facing the rear of the car. I have heard others that are completly satisfied with 1 speaker in the Celi, especially if its just for personal use (not competition). Just make sure it is installed correctly and it should sound great. You also may want to think about Dynomat in the hatch area. good luck |

Yeah, I think I'll get the 10" box with the Infinity Reference subwoofer, and the 1300A amplifier. But then again, I like the simplicity of the powered subwoofer. I'll be able to get everything next paycheck. -Matt This post has been edited by GotToyota: Oct 24, 2007 - 3:55 PM |
