heat shield yes or no?, do i really need the heat shield

soldier4life View Member Profile Enthusiast Joined May 1, '03 From san diego, california Currently Offline Reputation: 0 (0%)	i have an injen intake and i was woundering if i really need the heat shield that came with it...the heat shield is covering half of the filter and restricting some air flow...if someone can let me know that would be great

Guest_Matthew_* Guest_Matthew_* View Member Profile	a heat shield does just that. its SUPPOSED to block some of the hot air from the engine so you get a lower temperature intake charge. so yes you do need it. about restricting airflow, on a car thats not boosted its not enough to make any difference.
