I hope i'm in the correct forum......
my friend has a 02 mustang(V6) and he's always saying his car would blow mine away. so last night we met up and i told him i'd race him(for fun, i figured i'd lose). we headed to our favorite racing street and lined our cars up. i'm still thinking he's gonna kill me. another friend gives us the ready, 3.... 2... 1..... we got the signal and we were off. i got a slow reaction start but i pulled ahead and won. we turn around and my friend in the mustang counts it and i still won. i was gonna end up selling my celica and get a 3000gt or something but after that race, i've realized how awesome my car is and have decided to keep it. just figured you all would like to hear my story. |

so what do we condone then? I think in many ways many people are deterred from keeping their celica because there is nothing to motivate them.
First and foremost street racing is stupid.. no i dont mean that its stupid because you or I are involved in it. It is stupid because its never safe. 99 percent of people on the road have no freaking idea how to drive so THAT SOLELY makes street racing a dangrous sport. Secondly. Is there a difference between a quarter mile and a quarermile on the track? I mean both are asphalted, both have fancy lights that go red green yellow. Except one is more exciting. Going to a race track is like watching two snails mate. IT is predictable and should not be done period because its a matter of who spends more money on what vehicle. But when you whoop some major american muscle butt and the guy is pissed about it it gives you so much more... When we say we are street racing it does not mean we go to Main Steet and Livingston with a speed limit of 25 and mom and pop shops there and babies running around/// no we mean we do it responsibly away from public and often on semi closed circuit ie private road, empty highway and rarely a race track. Heck I admit. I race.. I dont race track race.. I race when applicable and away from public eye. Why because prospect of loosing my license or running into someone and spending 25 to life in jail would totally suck so most other racers like me do it responsibly and where its feasible. Now what you just did in this thread you basically broke his heart rather than took a responsibility of typing out that we congradulate you and yada yada BUT please dont post about you street racing. All I gotta say.. if you pull up to a traffic light and next car does a vrooom vroom and you have something something under your hood I damn funking dare you not to slam that gas pedal and accelerate to a legal speed limit 20 times faster than you normally do. over and out. -------------------- Captain Pessimist

YES do i think street racing is more exciting? Hell YES but still stupid. -------------------- |
