Ok guys, this might be a noob questions might not. Any way, I am just about ready to purchase some KYB GR2 shocks/struts but the fronts are just the inserts and the backs are the whole assembly. So when I do get these can I take the ones from the front out of the assembly and just pop the new ones in? Or do i have to purchase a another assembly for the front without the insert? Also, i noticed that the monroe ones come complete for all four, the whole assembly. If you guys had to pick between the two, which would you choose, KYB or Monroe?

Since you have a 96 the fronts should be sealed. SO you need the whole assembly. You can get it on ebay and they ship pretty fast too. Check out the part numbers on the KYB website and make sure they correspond to the ones on ebay. You should get boots for sure, because in time dirt and grim will get into your struts and will only wear them out quicker so it is highly recommended to get them. On ebay you will get the rears and front struts for maybe 20 bucks more than the non sealed cartridge struts.

334378 334379 334125 334126 sealed strut assembly part numbers for front and back.
