I just picked up a Canon Rebel XTi body with a 50mm f/1.8 lens and I'm very excited about it. I go tthe body with a 50mm fixed lens to start out with. I will look into getting a better lens later on.
Is anybody else using a DSLR? What are u using and with what lens' etc... oh BTW: Selling my Canon Powershot S50. Its a 5.0mp P&S but its a pretty powerful P&S you can see the shots I've taken with it on last years calendar (Tina's car) and some other shots I can provide. I'm selling it for $125; comes with card and all cables etc. Camera seems to have sold on ebay within an hour of posting it so unless I dont get paid its sold. XTI is very nice, and a great camera. The downside is that if you want to do sports photography and wildlife photography, your probably going to want a longer lens. The kit lens I think is an 18-55, so you wan't get much magnification. Your probably going to be looking at a 200mm lens at the least, and then you would have to decide if you want an L(uxury) lens, Image Stabilization, all of which adds hefty change to an already hefty price.
So while the XTI has a lot, like any SLR; you will probably want to expand your lens inventory, and those can very easily double the cost of the camera. I got my XTi body for about 700 and I've already spent about that on lenses, and 2 of them were used. This post has been edited by Supersprynt: Nov 7, 2007 - 11:18 PM -------------------- |
