I'm wanting to get some new suspension this Christmas, and I'm not sure what I want. I was thinking something about 1.5" in the front and 1" in the back.
I was looking at the Tein S. Tech for springs, and KYB GR-2's for shocks. But what I was wondering about is the spring rate. What will this affect, what does this mean? And how do I know if the springs rate will match that of the shocks? -Matt |

Spring Rate is the amount of weight needed to compress a spring a certain . Springs are rated in LB/in (in metric system kg/mm), or specifically, how many pounds of weight are required to depress the spring by one inch.
You have nothing to worry about. Going with the Tein S techs and some kyb gr2's you'll be fine. Your celica is your daily driver right? Well you have nothing to worry about spring rate. You've made a good choice on the springs. Less body roll and it will give your celica a nice aggressive stance. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer
94 Celica st black DD (bad weather beater)- totaled deer 95 Celica gt silver- chassis sold 88 Celica All-Trac (Burned to a crisp) 94 Celica gt white (sold) In need of a rust free chassis!!!! |
