I have been wanting to get a larger intercooler for my car since the day I got it but there is the awkward metal bumber thing in the way. I have noticed some people have just cut it for the space with what im assuming was a metal jigsaw or something. Does that bar really do all that much and is it ok to slice it up so i can fit in a larger intercooler?

Don't forget that the crash bar also supports the rigidity of the front of the car.. It helps brace up the two "frame rails" that it attaches too. I know they aren't actual frame rails since its a unibody car, but that piece is part of the cars structural stability. You may not really noticed this with it on or off, but everything adds up in the end.

You probably never seen the ST205 version then, its just 1/2 size and weight of a ST/GT one. -------------------- JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!

You probably never seen the ST205 version then, its just 1/2 size and weight of a ST/GT one. it is, however, it is quite rigid, due to its construction. in my accident, the GT-4 crash bar did its job, and crushed the frame bracket on that side up like a pretzle. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
