I'm trying to decide between some wheels that are 17x7.5 with a 45 offset, or some 17x8 with a 46 offset. for tires, probably 225/45/17 but I'm kinda curious if 235/40/17 tires would fit.

my question is, what size wheels, tires, and offsets are you guys running and do you have any issues with rubbing? and would you say you have a lot of clearance or very little in terms of being able to fit something bigger? also mention if you're lowered or not.

A great wheel with those specs 17x8 35 Offset would be the 5Zigen FN01RC, 16LB and well built. I have these myself, sits flush in the front and very very slightly tucked in the rear. 215/45 are a stretch but 225/45 would be sweet.

yeah... but they cost about $180 per wheel and I don't like the way the skinny spokes look that much. I think I'm just gonna get some cheap 17x7 with 225/45 tires and then save up and later on get something really nice like Volks or Gram lights and then I can swap my 225 tires over onto them. those at least would be worth putting spacers and longer studs on if I had to. I don't see it being worth going to all that trouble for some cheapo $130/each wheels.

in case anyone was wondering, these are the wheels I was considering at first. they are Volk Evolutions. old school discontinued volks! smile.gif was getting a hella good deal on them at only $200, but 3 were curbed, and one was cracked in the barrell, they were 17x7 with a 5x100/4x100 bolt pattern. and they were silver like in the picture. I decided that by them time I fixed the cracked one, fixed the curb rash on the other 3, and had them powder coated a color I liked, I could've just bought some pretty nice other wheels. plus I don't really like the style, I just wanted them cause they're volks biggrin.gif

So then I was deciding between these (the 17x8 with 46 offset)

and these (17x7.5 45 offset)

but I wished those were more bronze like this intstead of gold: (same MB wheel in different color)

so now I'm still looking. but I think I'm gonna lower the car first so I won't need a different offset before and after lowering since I'll allready be lowered.
