My car will bot go into any of the gears. A couple of days ago it started getting harder and harder to put in gear. I had to push it into gear. Now It refuses to go in gear. Is my transmission bad or my clutch or the slave cylinder in my clutch? Is it an easy or cheap fix?
I already bled the fluid and replaced it. It takes Dot 3 brake fluid. The old fluid was dirty. There's more info. -------------------- sig removed for size and content.

I've had this happen twice on two different cars. I'd put money on a need to change the clutch fluid. Check the fluid it's probably very murky, and It should be crystal clear. And you can also use dot 3 brake fluid,,,it's the exact same thing and it's cheaper. You just need to completely flush the old fluid and then bleed the clutch with new fluid. I'm sure there's a write up on here on how to do it. Actually, I don't see a write on here.
Best way is to get a vacuum bleed kit and have a friend push the clutch for you b/c you might need to drain the catch reservoir. I actually have a kit that I don't need if you want it, just pm me. I'm getting rid of all my spare tools and parts. http://www.miata.net/garage/clutch_bleed.html http://hondaswap.com/general-tech-maintena...ch-fluid-53198/ |
