I have everything disconnected, I was hoping to pull the engine tonght, but I can get the damn drivers side axle out.
I have all the bolts out and its disconnected from the hub, I just cant get it out of the tranny! any tips from those of you that have done it before? -------------------- ![]() The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed? |

having pulled that axle 4 times i know exactly what to do.....
the axle is held in by a snap ring thing at the end of the splined section which goes into the diff. this is what makes it hard to come out. in order to get it out and in toyota has put two notches on the large metal mass where the cv joint is. All that needs to be done is for someone to take a hammer and something "like" a screwdriver or end of a pry bar and put it on one of the notches (inner or outer one depending on if ur putting it in or pulling it out) and wack it with good force. Remember its on the inner cv joint area and the notches are on three sides so it helps to rotate the tire/axle so that one of the sides is facing a desirable direction. if u do not have these notches then theres a good chance the axle was changed. |
