The Lexus LS is really an amazing car all around, but the price tag for it is fairly high for a car of it's performance in my opinion. The luxury aspect of it is amazing, and I find the touchscreen navigation far superior to those of it's competitors of BMW and Mercades. But I find it lacking in the power department. It shifts very smoothly with it's 8 speed automatic transmission, and the turning on that car is amazing in comparison to it's size. The 460L/600hL is a long vehicle, but I find it surprisingly easy to manuver around corners and parking spaces. The LS is not a car to be driven, but to be driven in. With availible massage/reclineable seats in the rear, along with separate climate controls and window shades that go up and down with the push of a button, it's a great car to be sitting in when your going on a trip. The new LS600hL is a nicer car with a few upgrades, but in my opinion, all the benefits of the LS600hL do not justify the extra $50,000 more over the LS460. Even with it being a hybrid, it still only produces a difference of 2-3mpg city. I remember one LS460 coming in that had already been modified. It had a full body kit, vented fenders, rims, lip spoiler, exhaust and custom foglights. It looked almost factory like that, the entire car was done very professionally, however, it still made me cringe at the thought of somebody dismantling a $80,000 vehicle in exchange for fiberglass panels. Also, It made me wonder, "wow now some people really DO have way too much money".
