Guys, i need help with this one, cuz im lost. My GT is giving me a Check Engine light, The read out says something like Inadequate Air Flow. Ive done a complete Wash of my Intake. I had my Tech that i go to for tools i dont have, and he said he check all the Sensors and said they all worked fine. Ive Reset the ECU 3 times now. After the Bath of the intake i got 160 miles before it went off again. Thinking it was a faulty read i reset again and got 124 miles before the light came back. Now the Next part is going to be a little hard to explain. On the Intake (After Market Intake) right after the Filter connects to the tube is a sensor. I think its either the Mass Air Flow or the Air Temp Sensor, or something. The grommet was so tore from age that it wasnt holding the sensor in place anymore and it was just kinda hanging from the Tube. I went to get a new grommet for the sensor and they didnt have any the size i needed so i got a few different sizes and rigged 2 together. Basically the issue was one was the right size for the hole in the Tube but to big to fit the Sensor and the other fit the sensor but not in the Tube. So i rigged it up so it will fit and stay sealed, way better then what it was anyways. The thing is though after that i did the final Reset of the ECU and i got 8 miles before the Light came back on. IM LOST!!!!!!!!!!! if you have any ideas help me out. Im still working on a few things but i need all the help i can get.
Thanks |

Yes Panda. I believe you where the one that didnt put them on right the first time!
Anyways. i left out some information that i didnt think was important at the time but now that i think about it, it might be the problem, so now i have a question instead of looking for help. Before i started having this Air problem i was having a misfire problem, on all 4 cylinders. I was leaking oil into the Distributor which was causing the misfire. Me and Panda Replaced the plugs, wires, cap, roder and Distributor just to be sure. After that i started having this problem with the Air flow. Now when we finished with the Distributor we believed that we got the timing back on right, or atleast really close. Come to find out it was off and has been off since the swap. The thing is when we first had the misfire problem i wasnt pulling any codes, just that i was misfiring, it wasnt until after we did the swap that we started pulling this AZir code. up until now i thought it was just coincidence, but now im starting to wonder if thats the problem. Because if the Timeing is off the the Air mixture wouldnt be flowing right into the engine, thus it could be tripping the the sensors. So here is my question. Could the Timeing being off cause me to get this kind of Code? By the way, the Sensor i have been talking about is the Air Charge Sensor.
