I live at home with my parents, living pretty good since I don't pay for car insurance, food, cell, and other stuff. Yes you can say im partially spoiled. Im trying to figure out the cost of living away from home for the first time.
Total Cost Monthly: -Specify how much and what you pay for? rent/utilities/other bills. -Location -Solo or Roomate -[Optional] Monthly income Add anything else that you pay for. I "want" to plan how much it would cost to live away from home, most likely I will step up to this in a year or so. THANKS! |

Living expenses will vary GREATLY depending on what region you live in. Rents, utilities, cost of goods (food, clothes, etc) all vary too. Sales tax can affect it... there are SO many variables.
Portland, OR Rent: 1,000 (for a house) Utilities/Living Expenses: gas- $45/mo avg., electric- $65/mo avg., cell (I don't bother w/land line) $80 Verizon, DSL- $55, Dish Network- $80, gas @ 3.00/ga avg=$120/mo (I commute 40 miles a day, 400 miles to a tank), groceries for 1 - about $100/mo (WAY more if you go out to eat or buy expensive coffee like I do!) Dog food for a medium dog and one really really big dog: $37/mo Auto/Renter's Insurance: about $80/mo "entertainment" (going out to eat, movies, whatever)- about $50/mo w/out strippers involved ![]() So all in all I guess about $1700/mo total including a little padding for "incidentals" that you don't plan for. I don't have a car payment ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() |
