Anyone in the AirForce? Options

Just wondering if anyone in here is in the Air Force? Ive been reading about them and I have a few family members that have been serving in the Air Force for many years, Im looking for other peoples opinion about it..

Hope this doesn't end up as a debate about which service is the best and such...

I was going to join right outta high school. I think it's great if you know what you want to do when you get in, and you've got great ASVAB scores. The only bad thing is that I know people in there now that are doing a job, and when they get out, they won't have a job b/c noone supports what they do; the military does it. Some jobs you can hire on with either the Government or as a Contractor with certain companies, but it all depends on what you know.

I also think the military (not just the USAF) is important for people looking to get out of their current situation (ie bad lifestyle, horrible living situations, just need to find some discipline in life). You have to kinda ask yourself what your reasons for joining would be.

The ASVAB is free btw, anyone can take it. If you are in high school, they do it there, sometimes. My high school did it one day during lunch or something. You can find info at your local recruiting office (or if you're in high school ask your counselor), but they are really pushy about joining. I wouldn't talk to any of them in depth, they're kinda like used car salesman. Shysty. And if they offer you anything, get it in writing.
