well its mostly electric, the HPI competitions only let you drift with Electric RC Drift Cars. Gas is only optional for drifting but it wont be competition legal (at least for the HPI/ Yokomo competitions).. id say electric RC Drift cars are better because of course, its electric, its less problematic, and very easy to maintain. gas cars in the other hand, tend to have some more problems from time to time and more to maintain.
