So, I'm pretty sure that I have a bad thermostat, but I just wanted to make sure and get a second opinion.
In my Celica, if I have the heater on, the car won't warm up(per the temperature gauge), well, it will, it just takes a very very very long time(about 30 minutes.) If I have the heater off, it will warm up, but when I turn the heater on, the temperature gauge will drop a little signifying that it's cooler. I'm guessing the thermostat and if so, how much should one set me back at a dealer and how hard is it to put in? TiA! -------------------- 2019 M2, 2005 S2000, 1997 4Runne

Thermostat replacing is easy on our cars.. or should be. Personally, one of the bolts that holds it in is rounded so I can't take it out, but on yours it should be cake.
If you have the right tools that is. **Make sure your car is cold.** Look under your AC Compressor and you should see the housing. *Make sure your car is cold.* Get in there and remove the two bolts/nuts/whatever holding it down. Remove and replace! Don't forget a new gasket too. Have fun, good luck, and dont hurt yourself. -------------------- |
