I am new here. I have a 1994 Celica ST with the 7AFE motor in it and automatic tranny. I am pretty sure that mine threw a rod, so I am wanting to do something to it to make it a little quicker. If anyone knows where some performance parts are for these, please lemme know. This thread, tho, is about a question. I had a guy on another thread tell me that you can put the 3SGTE head on a 5SFE block. I was wondering how expensive and how much pain is this to do? Also, what all would I need for this swap, as in timing belt, head gaskets, head studs, tranny, ECU, etc.etc...? I have been searching for performance parts for this motor since I got the car and have never ran across anything that can help it much. Please help!! Thanks

straight up 3s swap would be less headache and quicker i dont know about cheaper but prolly that too. if you have the money though and want to do this 3s/5s frank. motor its very doable. and you do infact get more performance out of it. but the bottom end of the 5s still has semi weak pistons as does the stock 3s block. so your still in the same boat unless you build it.
