I've had 3 different tyres on the car
With 3S-GE: 215/45/17 Avon ZZ3: Last quiet a bit (20k miles) and had good overall grip. With 3S-GTE: 225/35/18 Toyo Proxes T1-R: The tyres are pretty soft compound and worn after 8000 miles. But this set was only used in the City and only a few (cruising) miles on the Highway. And I'm always in 'Race Mode' ![]() Since the Goodyears are now in the back. My 'rear set' Toyo's are now in front and I've done about 12k miles with them and probably do another 5-6 with them. 225/40/18 Goodyear Eagle GS-D3: Because the local tyre company somehow couldn't deliver the Toyo's in 40 sidewall I ordered the Goodyears. They where compared to the Proxes in many ways by other people who had them. Boy I was wrong. Traction and cornering is a lot worse with these tyres. These went into the back and will stay there untill there fully worn and I will then replace them with the same size Toyo's But all considered: I wish I never got 18". Tyre's are more expensive, ride is worse and overall grip/performance could be better with 17". Therefor I'm considering purchasing either: C-one SA70 rims: 17x8J ET32 Work CR Kai Bronze rims (middle taper): 17x8.5J ET38 But this will not be done untill this tyre set is worn and I finally made up my mind ![]() -------------------- JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!
