yep, it has started. this automotive repair company on their website were advertising fully rebuilt engines. so, i called the guy and he said he would even port & polish for free. i took the car there next day and he wasn't there. The front desk lady gave me my receipt and took the car. The receipt said used long block, but with the price he told me on the phone, so I didn't make much of it considering rebuilt engine is still a used engine. Next day he calls me, once he already got the engine out, and says he can't port & polish or it'll void the warranty. But, before he said it wouldn't void any warranty. He said he'll do it but no warranty. so, i got stuck since the engine was already out. Then when i went to pick up my car, i saw that the engine was dirty and it was not even rebuilt, just reconditioned (this was after i paid). he didn't even walk me to my car to show me the engine. he said he's website is for remanufactured only, which was the only advertisement i saw on his website. so anyways, today i filed a complaint with both BAR and BBB. we'll see what happens. i said on there that i would either like them to put back my old engine back and give me the refund or put in the rebuilt engine with no additional charge. do you guys think i have a chance? I hope you guys don't go through what i am going through right now, so make sure you look real into it. if you think you did, look into it again.

this is the website below. please let me know if it's also misleading to you:

www.academyauto.com

thanks

Man, sorry to hear about that. That's why I avoid going to shops and just do It myself, that way I'll learn new thing and It'll by mod, you know? For example, Radiator, did It mysaelf, belt's, did myself, alternator, did myself, spark plug's, did It myself, broken motor mount, fixed that myself too. I know these are small thing's, If I had the time/money, I would do an engine swap. And If anything happen's to any of these, I can retrace my step's to find out what I did wrong. As opposed to haveing some tech do It and have no clue what he did first of last and In between, y9ou know? -Phil

exactly. you are completely correct on that. I try to do some myself as well, so I know what's going on, but time was a constraint and seemed like a great deal. BTW today I was driving there and my car lost all gears. it acted as if all gears were neutral. Almost caused an accident trying to move to safety. When I looked under the car there were oil drips. So, I will have to take action. Whatta headache. Merry Christmas!!!:)
