Well this is the first major job on my 98 vert. I've dismantled most of the underside of the dash and am now trying to figure out the (hopefully) last stage. Undoing the heater assembly and getting that booger out. I'm getting a little frustrated and could use advice of anyone who's been down in there. I'll try to get some pics up soon for others in similiar situation.

take the heater core lines out from the engine bay, then go to the inside and just start taking crap out. (organize as you go obviously). your entire center console, your steering column, the upper and lower dash comes out. and then last but not least..... remove the unibody crash support under the dash it goes left to right 4 bolts on 1 end and 2 on the other. then you will be able to unbolt the heater core and a/c cores (leave a/c lines connected). you can remove the heater core by puling the a/c core back a little ways too. once you get the white box out, replace the box if you got the whole thing or gently remove the heater core not screwing up the lines.
