Hey guys, anyone know how to fix a fuel gauge? I was working on my tachometer today... when i finished up i asked my girlfriend to get a papertowel and dust off the gauge faces while i finished putting the dash back together... well, she of course hit all the needles with the papertowel while cleaning the gauge faces and didn't realize it. All the instruments seem to be working fine except for the fuel gauge. the needle just sit in th 1/4 full position even though i have a full tank of gas. Any ideas what it could be? I never had a fuel gauge issue before today, and i didn't think that the whole papertowel thing would render the fuel gauge permanently useless?

i would unplug the cluster and let it reset its self and that should work or you could try disconecting the batt, ive seen this happen in dodge trucks when they getting to vibrating a lot the guages freak out and freeze in odd spots and disconecting the cluster seems to fix it
