i bought what i thought was a 7afe for 200$ from junkyard but the IM doesnt have the EGR Valve nor the Vacuum Switching wich would make it a 1.5L 5afe right? how could i tell for sure what it is besides that i also looked for the metal plate on the block wich would say but its missing. also if it is 5afe how much worse is that than the 7afe what all would i be losing?

what would be the bads of keeping this engine bc having a kid in all im tight on money and need to get the celli up and running, i already have it in with my sensors screwed in the back of the block should i just delete the egr and vacuum switching valve. would my ecu even work with this engine? everything is pluged up but i couldn't get it to do anything besies turn over maby a different distr. any ideas???? -------------------- [SIZE=7][COLOR=blue][SIZE=1]-WES-

ECU should work. The disadvantage of this motor is basically that it's smaller and probably older. It is better than a 5AFE however. Check your wiring again (grounds mainly) and then do the basic checks for spark/fuel, etc. The 7AFE ecu can run the 4AFE. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
