im haveing a hard time to get my celi to start at anytime during the day except for if i just turned it off then it fires up with one crank of the motor. i understand its cold now but i dont remeber having this problem last year. i have a small bit of corosion (sp) on my battery termanals which im goign to be cleaning off tomarrow and the battery is less then 6 months old. i tend to go through batterys quickly for some reason. i dont think my altinator is going bad since i can start the car and disconect the negitive wire on my battery and it still runs fine. i was wondering if theres a way to test the starter or if theres a better way to test the altinator/battery. im usually pretty good on working on my own car but this ones got me stumped. any advice would be welcomed thx in advance

clean the iac very well, take it off of the throttle body and clean it out with some strong solvents. see if that helps its initial starting. or you can just hold your foot on the pedal slightly, if that starts it easier then it is the iac.
