For the past few months I have been trying to take better care of myself by doing some basic "at home" exercises and have swapped out some of my junk foods with bananas/apples/red grapes/salads/ and v8 fusion.
The the holiday chocolate came and I broke my hand so it kinda dropped Now that I'm out of the cast and most of the sweets are gone I'm getting started again. I'm not trying to lose weight (i'm close to being underweight actually) and NO this isn't a new year resolution. It's something I decided to do and started months ago and worked on until my hand broke. I just didn't know if there were any nutritionist on here that could give some advice? I'm trying to eliminate junk food and away from processed foods but I love my pringles! I guess I pretty much know whats good for the heart and overall diet stuff but just didn't know what there is specific for organs in the body. Been google searching too. Just wondering if any nutritionist were here... -------------------- ![]() CLOSED on 25 acres! -shop coming soon.... |

chocolate is fine in moderation, just like the occasional red wine. don't forget berries and nuts, good source of antioxidants if you would rather go the natural route than vitamins. replace any soda or sports drinks (those are just as bad) with lots of water and 100% juice (juicy juice). carbonation and caffeine can eventually break down the lining of the esophagus leading to GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) also lots of milk or if you're lactose intolerant, soy milk or calcium supplements. (good for bones)
since you say you are underweight, you need to gain just a little weight so no need to worry about avoiding junk food entirely, just choose wisely. cholesterol, a type of steroid, along with fats are a necessity to the human body so don't think they are the bad guys. avoid saturated fats and go with mono or polyunsaturated alternatives. you can do little things like switch out your butter and cooking oil with healthier alternatives (smart balance spread) http://www.fatfreekitchen.com/cholesterol/cookingoil.html underweight individuals are usually treated with a high kcal, high protein diet. (protein good for muscles) there is absolutely nothing wrong with pringles (unless that is most of your diet). they contain 0 grams of trans fat and are baked not fried. stick to your routine, add a little more calories, and make sure you keep your digestive tract goin' with fiber, and u should be fine. one more link http://health.msn.com/nutrition/articlepag...entid=100147031 and that concludes my 2 cents....
