I want to spray paint my valve cover, is it safe enough to un-bolt and remove it? or will i find it difficult to put back on, anythng i need to watch out for?

yeah but you might end up spraying something you don't want to... the valve cover gasket is $16 from toyota... it honestly just the screws on top.... remove any hoses connected and paint the cover... you can also take a peak and see what kind of condition the cams are in for instance... put the cover back on with the new gasket... tighten down to 14 INCH pounds which is just screwdriver tight without any heavy torque at all and you'll have no problem... i know i had to put some FIPG on the camshaft corners on my 3sgte but i don't know if its the same with the other engines... i assume so... its probably easier than actually painting the cover haha
