guys i'm rebuilding my 1996 GT. I want a stock rebuild but i want to port/polish the head and get a header with matching flow characteristics...what else can I do to see any improvements without serious big money parts? forged or stock replacement pistons?? i don't really plan on any big gains so should I just go stock piston replacement? What about cams? Chip? Tuner? Is it worth it to balance and micropolish the crank?
What is the average stock rebuild cost? Guys...thanks! |

QUOTE(lipweb @ Jan 16, 2008 - 6:04 PM) I'm looking at some head work, inverted dome top pistons, and boring the cylinders all for more compression. I guess I'll have to find a matching header and go from there. I already have a 90 eagle talon awd tsi all built up pushing over 300 horses, I just want this celica to be strong AND dependable. How much does it cost on the average for a standard rebuild on the 5sfe?? I'm interested in knowing this also.. bump |
