A few weeks ago i checked the engine bay to find some carbon deposit on the fins of the manifold heat sheild. Then i started to notice a strange noise on start up at the manifold, like it had started to blow.... Then for some strange reason it disappeared. But then yesterday it started sounding like a tank again, but kinda disappears when its warmed up...
So my question is, is there a manifold gasket that might need replaced or does it sound like i need a new exhaust manifold etc...... Cheers guys, 3sgte -------------------- ![]() |

Just been to the local garage, they said it looks like it could be the gasket between the turbo and manifold, or a possible crack in the manifold. But he was unable to say for sure without removing the tin heatshield. Said it was too big a job for them.
This a common problem any you guys some across? Any idea if its a big job to sort? -------------------- ![]() |
