guys i'm rebuilding my 1996 GT. I want a stock rebuild but i want to port/polish the head and get a header with matching flow characteristics...what else can I do to see any improvements without serious big money parts? forged or stock replacement pistons?? i don't really plan on any big gains so should I just go stock piston replacement? What about cams? Chip? Tuner? Is it worth it to balance and micropolish the crank?

What is the average stock rebuild cost?

Guys...thanks!

I was also considering this exact topic the other day, and i can't believe i stumbled across a thread with a couple others already talkin about it. So yes, as lipweb was asking, how much money would it approximately cost if we were to bring our motor to a shop and get it rebuilt? And I was also considering boring my cylinders, but as I just read the last post..guess i shouldn't frown.gif ...and where can I find some web cams that Dustin has? I read that thread about them, such impressive gains and no power loss at 5k rpm...i hate that on my 5s motor, 3rd gear feels like i'm practically dragging the car to move it's ass
