 Starter!, Where are you! |

Ok, I'm doing my chick friend's starter and I've never replaced one on a 6gen. 4gen yes, but I have no idea where to find it. The Chilton's manual has a wonderful picture of where the 5gen one is, but I'm working on an ST (7a-fe). Can someone please take a picture or just tell me where on this engine the starter is located. Out of resources.

I appreciate the responses guys. We got it out and whatnot, I've just never seen a starter that's completely closed in from all sides like that. They're usually on the front of the bell housing where you can get to it easily (at least on the 3S-GE it is).

The same place as the 5S and later 3S's but turned 180 degrees so underneath the header and above the block. Not fun. 1st time I did it I ended up taking way to much stuff off like the header etc. The 2nd time I figured out you could just take off the oil filter and hit it from there with a long exstention. You could borrow one of my jacks if you need to.
