I was using the lever to open the trunk and it broke off in my hand. My question is, how do I remove/service this and is there any way to replace the lever with a jury-rigged solution? Thanks in advance for any help.

this has gone on long enough.
use a philips head screw driver and take off your old broken lever. Go to a toyota dealer and buy another one. Put the new one it it's place. If you want to be cool, buy a trunk popper kit and install it. But if you cannot figure out how to replace a broken lever, I wouldn't recommend you install a trunk popper kit.
