I just read this whole thing on CelicaTech about replacing the stock TB w/a larger one for increased airflow. It seemed to make sense, but I know nothing about this stuff. Here's the link for anyone interested in the thread.

Have any of you done this, and does it really make any little difference at all? Or is it just stupid?

Edit: I should specify, I'm inquiring about this for an n/a engine, not a turbo

I'd just find(or get made) some individual throttle bodies if i was to go that route with my car personally.... kinda like Hanyo was saying, really only gonna gain throttle response without changing out some other things as well which, will make it kind of a P.I.T.A.

I have done custom ITBs on a B16B, and I can say for sure... it will be almost impossible to tune on the stock computer.

My opinion of throttle bodies, unless the engine is running out of breath (you can tell on a dyno), opening up the intake won't do very much. I think it's more hassle than it's worth. Unless you throw in some cams, open up the intake ports, throw in come bigger valves, it won't do very much.
