Map light bulbs, what size bulb are you using? Options

This is so petty but it BUGS me to no end. In my map light I have size 57 bulbs. They're icky dingy yellow and fairly useless. I've been hunting for a replacement for the bulbs I have, but can't find anything other than standard filament bulbs. In my search though I've discovered that the "correct" size is 293. WTF IS A 293 BULB!?! No one carries it. NO ONE. (not parts stores, at least)

Have any of you run into this, and how have you solved it? It seems RIDICULOUS to have to go to Totota to buy these small ass light bulbs.

I've never had map lights [always had sunroof on all 3 of my 6gc's] but there is always a bulb that will fit in the spot if it's one of those traditional but mini looking bulbs - if that makes any sense .
Do you have a pic of the bulb that needs to be replaced? If you take a pic next to a quarter I can probably point you towards an LED replacement that will work.
