I was wanting to put a turbo kit in my 7afe engine with an automatic trans. Will the trans be able to handle the turbo? Is a supercharger a better way to go? I know I can only push so much on this engine and I was aiming for 175 HP when im done. Any suggestions? I have about 1500 for engine mods.

i have an auto tranny and a turbo setup
turbos love auto tranny's. dont have to let off the gas and the turbo never slows down till you want to slow down. superchargers are a waste of time on a i4 car in my opinion. they arent as efficient and not as easy to up the boost as with a turbo. but they are less stressfull on the engine. i say turbo, from first hand experience. at 6psi i ripped apart a 1998 celica GT 5spd with IHE and i gave him a couple car length head start. now im trying out 8psi and with me and two of my friends in my car its still faster than my friend's 91 3000gt SL -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition
