So I moved out to Portland, Or.. It's a pretty neat place.. I have an apt southwest of the town and it's a nice area. Lots of stores out here and what not... I like it. Always sucks getting settled into a new place though... boring n what not since I really don't have any friends here... The drive was pretty interesting.. drove from eastern PA in my 93 corolla.. I got to Cheyenne WY and I80 was closed so I traveled north through WY to pick up I90 in Montana.. those mountain roads are serious business this time of year!

I'm not much bothered by the rain... I knew I was getting into that.

Give it a few years... I've been here 9 years now from NYC and this is the first winter that it's truly affected me. You will however LOVE the summers here... summer here is EXCELLENT! Beats any summer on the east coast, hands-down.

PM me if you get hard up for work... I know you're looking for a welding job, but my job is always hiring production workers if you really need work. It's minimum wage, I think, or close to it (OR minimum wage is like $7.60 I think) but it's guaranteed work and pretty chill. I could also ask around if we're hiring for other positions too, although if it's just temporary for you it'd be better to just go w/the production/assembly stuff. And it's not too far from where you're staying.
