I was wanting to put a turbo kit in my 7afe engine with an automatic trans. Will the trans be able to handle the turbo? Is a supercharger a better way to go? I know I can only push so much on this engine and I was aiming for 175 HP when im done. Any suggestions? I have about 1500 for engine mods.

lag is not as big of a problem as people think it is.  my turbo setup currently is running the stock ST exhaust and my turbo hits full boost at a little under 3k rpm in first and since i have an auto, after that it never drops till i decide to slow down or stop accelerating.

Amen! A lot of people don't really understand lag. Many think it's gonna be a huge factor in aftermarket applications, however, it's sooo insignificant...it's not even noticeable on typical cars boosting modest levels and pushing modest power...

Boost lag will matter, for those that run a 9.25 second 1/4 mile and is yearning for that 8 second mark.... in that case, a bit of lag is noticeable... but how many people here can run nines...

gimmie a rolling start and i can, lol biggrin.gif
