Ive got a 96 ss2 with a 3sge and the valve cover gasket needs replacing. I have viewed a detailed post with pictures on how to do it however my engine is different. There seems to be alot more stuff on top of and around the cover. My question is how do i go about removing the intake manifold in order to remove the valve cover? or do i even have to? Some of the bolts in between where the spark plugs go are very hard to get to also, any tips on how to remove these?

well you guys are right, the intake manifold has to come off first. I only know this because i have the same engine standing in my garage. If you jack up the car, support the engine and remove the rear mount and cross member, and maybe the right axle and tie rod, all of which arent too too difficult. You may have enough room to scoot back there and reach the manifold bolts. ![]() Im not sure, You may not need to remove that much stuff, youll find out when you get back there. If you want i could take a few pictures highlighting the bolts you need to reach, theres actually a couple weird ones that are between the runners. -------------------- OBD-II makes me a sad panda
